Founded in 1882, Jay Valley Beef, LLC carries forward more than a century of family farming.

 

Operated by fourth‑generation farmer Steve Depies alongside his son Brandon, the fifth generation, our farm is dedicated to raising quality Angus beef and, in recent years, locally raised pork for our community.

We focus on responsible animal care, transparency, and providing families with quality meat they can trust—sold directly from our farm to your freezer.

​Our beef herd consists primarily of Angus cattle, known for their quality and consistency. We offer competitively priced beef, with most quarter shares averaging approximately 200 pounds of hanging weight. With over 25 years of experience serving our customers, we remain committed to providing dependable, high‑quality beef and trusted service.

Our pigs come from a lineage of Berkshire sows and Hampshire boars known for producing high‑quality, flavorful pork. We are committed to responsible, transparent farming practices, and we proudly raise all of our hogs without the use of Paylean, steroids, or any growth‑enhancing additives.

Once your beef or pork is delivered to the butcher shop, the animal will be professionally processed according to your preferences.

 

Please note:

​

  • Processing fees are separate from your purchase and are paid directly to the butcher shop at pickup

  • Processing costs vary based on animal size and cutting selections

  • We do not control butcher pricing or payment methods

 

We will provide you with:

​

  • The name and contact information for the butcher shop

  • The date when you may call in your cutting instructions

 

When calling the butcher, simply state:

 

Your name and that you are calling with cutting instructions for the Depies animal.
